How do you like to travel?

Hello there I’m back.

I know, I know, it’s been a long time since I’ve been here but a lot of things have caused that, such as study, I always seemed to be just that bit behind with my reading and assignment preps that I felt I didn’t have much time for anything else.  Then we had some paranormal issues, now you may or may not believe in that sort of thing but believe me it’s out there.

Then we went away for 2-3 weeks and on our return I developed pneumonia – just what I didn’t need!  Anyway, I tried a couple of weeks ago to get caught up with my blogs but all the coughing made me tired and the little I did get written was lost because of hitting a wrong key and it was gone!  So, because I was still fighting pneumonia and not feeling very well, I gave up in disgust, intending to be back the next day or so, well that didn’t happen.

Now, feeling I have caught up (says she cautiously) with my reading for my next assignment and I’m about to start writing, I felt I have a bit of time to write on my blogs and because I have three I had better get cracking.

I was going to write something about travelling, more importantly travelling on a very, very small budget.  Why, because over out 3 weeks away, that’s what we did.  Our first stop was outside Sydney, then on to Port Macquarie and then into Sydney – Darling Harbour.

I have done a fair bit of travelling overseas and I have my favourite places/countries but I now like to see some of Australia and the best way to do that, I find, is by car.  Mainly because trains and planes are costly and do not always get you to where you want to go.

Whether you tow a caravan, use a tent, stay a night or two in motels/hotels, or you have one of those huge motorhomes, there are many places within a day or two’s drive you can go to chill out for a few days or as long as you wish.

If you are looking go further afield, for example Perth or Darwin or simply more than one or two days drive away, you then have to consider whether it is worth your while costwise and timewise to drive or take a train or plane.  Trains such as The Ghan (Adelaide, capital of South Australia to Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory), Indian Pacific (Sydney-Perth) takes you across the Australian continent, several others you might like to explore can be found here https://www.australian-trains.com/.  These trains take you to and through some amazing country.

Planes on the other hand might get you to your destination faster but the only scenery you get is air and clouds, yes, you get an aerial view of the country which in itself can be an amazing sight but  you then have to hire a vehicle to see some of the country around your destination or pay for expensive tours.

But, however you like to travel, you can always go somewhere different or see something different even if you go to the same place each year.  There are always things you didn’t get to see or do, or new things have sprung up since your last visit.

So, this is just to get you interested in travelling or holidaying whichever way you like to put it and hopefully, get you to add your experiences or ideas.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to your comments.

Cheers for now.
